Rice Bowl Recordings Official Statement on AI Generated Music

Rice Bowl Recordings officially confirms that, from this point forward, we will no longer consider or accept demo submissions containing music fully generated by artificial intelligence.

This decision is based on both common sense and meritocracy.

A real music producer or musician is, first and foremost, a craftsman. In most cases, they have dedicated years, and often an entire lifetime, to learning the art of music creation through study, discipline, experience, and constant improvement. It is only fair that they receive the recognition and opportunities that come from that work.

AI generated music changes that balance completely. It removes the connection between artistic result and artistic effort, allowing anyone to generate music instantly without having gone through the real creative and technical path required to become a true producer or musician. In doing so, it undermines merit, devalues real artistic development, and places artificial output on the same level as genuine human craft. We do not consider that acceptable.

As artists ourselves first, and only after that label managers, we believe we have both a moral and practical responsibility to protect real music, real artistry, and the people who have truly dedicated themselves to this craft.

 

For this reason, Rice Bowl Recordings will only work with real producers, real musicians, and human made music.

AI may be a useful support tool in many areas, but it will not be accepted by us as a substitute for actual artistic creation.
