Read Before You Sign

A quick reminder for artists and producers.

At Rice Bowl Recordings, we take our work seriously.

Before any contract is signed, we provide our artists with Artist Release Terms, a detailed FAQ, and direct chat support whenever clarification is needed. We do this for one simple reason: we want everything to be fully clear before moving forward.

Transparency protects both sides.

We believe in maximum transparency from our side, and in return we expect the same honesty, attention, and professionalism from the artists we work with.

Signing with a label is never mandatory. Every artist is free to choose their own path, including self release. But once an artist decides to work with a label, they cannot continue reasoning as if they were still handling a completely independent self release.

A label has its own structure, timing, requirements, and rules. The label sets the framework, and the artist decides whether to accept it or not.

If we clearly state that we only accept original, unreleased, and unpublished music, then that is exactly what we expect to receive.

If we clearly explain our workflow, our contract structure, and our requirements, then those points are there to be read, understood, and respected.

A label is not a game, and a contract is not something to sign lightly.

Professionalism goes both ways.

Artists rightly expect labels to be serious, organized, and transparent. In exactly the same way, labels have every right to expect artists to be honest, accurate, and fully aware of what they are submitting and signing.

We are always happy to work with serious artists who respect the process, understand the framework, and are ready to build something with the right mindset.

But where transparency, honesty, or basic professional standards are missing, we will always take the necessary decisions to protect our work, our structure, and the artists who do respect it.
