Rice Bowl Recordings Introduces AI Conent Screening Powered by SH Labs

Rice Bowl Recordings is introducing a new AI content screening step within its A&R and release review workflow, using SH Labs AI detection technology.

As fully AI generated music becomes increasingly present across the music industry, we believe it is important to maintain clear standards while continuing to support genuine artists, producers and creative work.

Our policy is simple: Rice Bowl Recordings does not accept tracks that are fully generated by AI from start to finish.

This does not mean that we reject the responsible use of AI as a supporting creative or production tool. What matters to us is that the music remains fundamentally created, produced and artistically directed by a human artist.

A New Step in Our A&R Workflow

Submitted music may now be screened using SH Labs technology as part of our internal review process before a release proceeds to production.

The system will help our A&R team identify submissions that may require additional review, allowing us to maintain a more consistent and professional evaluation process across Rice Bowl Recordings, Blakk Digitally Music and Tulua Records.

AI detection results will not automatically determine whether a release is accepted or rejected.

Where a submission produces a suspicious or inconclusive result, our A&R team may request additional information, clarification or production evidence from the artist before making a final decision.

Human review remains at the center of every decision.

Protecting Human-Driven Music

Rice Bowl Recordings was built around artists, producers and people who dedicate real time, skill and creativity to making music.

Technology will continue to evolve, and we have no intention of standing in its way. But we also believe there must remain a meaningful distinction between technology assisting an artist and technology replacing the artist entirely.

Integrating AI content screening into our A&R workflow is another step toward protecting that distinction while keeping our release process transparent, modern and prepared for the future.
